Welcome to Oceantrax

Welcome to our About Us page where I have composed a brief introduction to myself and Oceantrax.

This is because we believe it is important for you as the client to know a little about my background and the history of the company along with being able to put a face to the emails and phone calls we may have.

My Story

In 2016 I established Oceantrax after twenty years working within the marine industry.

I was born and grew up Cornwall where I studied Small Yacht Design and Construction at Falmouth Marine School.
Upon finishing college I started training as a dinghy and windsurfing instructor in Falmouth Bay before moving to Greece with Sunsail and then to the Canary Islands to continue watersports instruction.

From dinghies and windsurfing I progressed to yacht sailing and gained my Yacht Master qualification with motor boat endorsement, after which I worked for a further three years in southern France, Greece, Turkey and Italy on both charter and private yachts.

Looking for new areas to explore, I then took on a position in the British Virgin Islands running a charter yacht for The Moorings for a year, before progressing to a Dynamic 62 charter yacht operating throughout the Caribbean chain.

Between contracts on charter and private yachts I would undertake various deliveries on a wide range of vessels for different companies including Reliance and PYD, along with managing refit works in Antibes and Trinidad.

During these years I established a valuable contacts network and gained invaluable experience which I now put to use to ensure the smooth running of deliveries.

Yacht deliveries became my favourite type of work. Covering large distances, the range of vessels involved and the chance to visit new areas all interested me greatly.

And so Oceantrax was formed and has slowly grown from just myself to employing several skippers and establishing contracts with various brokers, as well as undertaking numerous worldwide deliveries for private clients every year.

Oceantrax continues to expand despite the recent challenges of COVID and the complexity of Brexit, and we look forward to continuing this growth.
